You should do a tour in the tourist bus by buying a 3 days ticket with access to the trams and regular buses. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace), the Cristal Palace and the Bolhão market. 5 "Above all a kind, friendly, polite, helpful and open population. Exceptional! Historical city. The Douro. Very clean city. Good food. A fair knowledge of foreign languages even among everyday people. I never felt a moment of insecurity, even at night. Astonishing over-all-low-prices compared with my home city (Brussels). Is it 50%? Maybe. The Portuguese language sounds melodious. It is not too fast spoken. Would/should I learn the language and retire in Porto? Maybe. (I am 65 now)." Name: Eric de Vos
Country: Bélgica

6 "The night view of Porto from Gaia near the old bridge was amazing. You can see it in pictures and movies but there’s nothing like the feeling that you get from seeing it live. There was also typical Portuguese guitar music coming from the Oporto side, which just made the moment even better. Also, we found great deals on LBV Port wine at the Calém shop in Gaia. Less than 13 Euros for a 1997 vintage." Name: Jaime and Lucy
Country: Canada
