Serra da Arrábida
The Arrábida mountains are part of the Arrábida natural park and are one of the largest natural treasures in Portugal. The mountains and the beach come together in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. For those seeking a summer experience, youll find Praia dos Galapinhos (beach), considered Europes best beach in 2017.
Sesimbra
This fishing village stretches from the slope of the Arrábida mountains to the beach and its shore is much appreciated by those who love going on long walks. From the landscape arises Castelo de Sesimbra (castle), and if you would like to visit it on foot, we recommend youre physically well prepared.
Cascais
The town of Cascais is located a few minutes from Lisbon, between the sea and the mountains. Its unique location gives it a privileged identity and is frequently referred to as the Portuguese Riviera. In its historical centre you can visit Palácio da Cidadela (palace). If youre a fan of art, you can also visit Casa das Histórias Paula Rego (museum), a famous Portuguese painter.
Óbidos
This town is known for its medieval setting, preserving the walls of its castle until today. Here, events such as the International Chocolate Festival and the Christmas Market are organised every year. If you visit Óbidos, dont forget to taste the famous Ginjinha in a chocolate cup, a combination of typical local flavours.
Peniche
Peniche is a town with a strong connection to the sea, where the fishing tradition is still alive. Located a few kilometres from the coast is a small natural treasure, the Berlengas archipelago, which you can visit by boat.

From Sesimbra to Óbidos, travelling near Lisbon is not only extremely practical, but should also be mandatory. It's a journey where every scenario is perfect for a road trip that will remain in your memory forever.
Starting in the south of Lisbon, you'll find Arrábida natural park and Arrábida mountains. During this journey you?ll be enveloped by the mountains and the sea in one of the most beautiful landscapes we have to offer. For those who want to continue their journey or prefer to start in the north, be sure to stop at the Sintra mountains and Palácio Nacional da Pena (palace) for some romance and mystery, while also sweetening your taste buds with a traditional queijadinha. Before arriving there, you'll come across the town of Cascais, also located between the sea and the mountains.
Continuing the journey along the coast, we suggest that you stop in Peniche or head to the Berlengas archipelago by boat. Further inland, you can visit Óbidos, for a medieval journey among walls and castles.
