Tips for protecting the environment when you travel (but not only!)
Did you know that the average international water consumption per guest per night is about 345 litres? Or that a 1ºC difference in air conditioning, depending on whether it?s winter or summer, is quite significant when it comes to energy saving?
Every small gesture counts, so discover a few simple tricks for a more effective and conscious use of our resources!
Resist using single dose amenities (bottles of shampoo, conditioner). Less trash, less waste!
Choose eco-friendly transportation. Walk, rent one of the bicycles available at our hotels or simply use the public transportation that is always available right outside our door!
Reduce lighting in your home, using only what is absolutely necessary.
Reduce the amount of time you spend in the shower and always turn off the water when you're applying soap or brushing your teeth.
Request that bed linen and towels not be changed daily, thus contributing to savings in water, electricity and detergent.
Always set the air conditioner to the recommended temperatures, which can range from 21-22C in the winter and 24-25C in the summer (remember, the smaller the temperature difference between inside and outside, the less strain is put on the AC equipment, which ultimately means you'll save more!).
The Portuguese gastronomy is mostly
comprised of fish or meat, however, during your travels, you can also indulge
in some vegetarian and vegan options.
